Fall-winter recreation line-up includes old favourites and new offerings

The City of Sarnia has added some new programs to its fall-winter recreation line-up, as well as some old favourites.

“We’re always looking to provide a diverse set of experiences in our programs that serve a wide range of interests,” said activities programmer Mike Neely.

“Whether you’re looking to pick up a new creative exploit, get in shape or just have fun, we have something for you in the fall-winter lineup.”

Users can now view the full schedule ahead of registration opening Aug. 20.

New and returning Strangway Centre visitors can expect old favourites like drop-in programs, organized indoor sports, language classes and Tai Chi, in addition to new offerings like:

• Social Singers, a multi-genre singing group
• Pick-Up Hockey
• Drop-In Art Club, for creative beginner right through to the seasoned artist
• Leather Carving Advanced Wet Molding

Registration for organized indoor sports utilizing school gymnasiums will open on Sept. 10, after locations have been finalized for the season.

The upcoming season runs from Sept. 3, 2024 to March 28, 2025.

The City offers upwards of 85 unique recreation programs annually, with an estimated 1,500 to 1,800 participants.
