Held in partnership with the Seaway Kiwanis, the long-running free Easter celebration — featuring Egg Hunts, children’s activities, live entertainment and a visit from the Easter Bunny — will take place April 19, from 9 a.m. to noon at Canatara Park in the area near the Animal Farm
The main event, as in years past, will be the annual Easter Egg Hunt, with kids scouring the ground for coloured eggs that they can exchange for a treat. Participants are reminded to bring their own basket. The hunt takes place at 10 a.m., with separate areas for children aged 4 and under alongside those with accessibility needs; 5 to 7; and 8 plus.
“Easter in the Park is the unofficial kick off to our annual events lineup, so we are certainly excited to be gearing up to once again welcome the public out for some free family fun,” said Manager of Recreation and Parkland Planning Services, Krissy Glavin.
Other attractions this year include performances from Bella Magic at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.; inflatables; face painting; Easter-themed creation station; train rides; balloon twisting, and more. Food will be available at a small cost via a Seaway Kiwanis Barbecue.
To facilitate Easter in the Park, the Park Service Road will be closed west of Lake Chipican Drive on Saturday, April 19, from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
