Dump truck driver facing charges in Tuesday collision

The driver of a dump truck has been charged with three Highway Traffic Act offences following a Tuesday morning collision in Sarnia, police say.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the area of London Road and Pontiac Drive, when the dump truck collided with a car.

The driver of the dump truck has been charged with failure to stop at a red light; heavy truck in a restricted area; and disobey signage.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.

“The Sarnia Police Service would like to thank the numerous citizens that stopped to assist prior to police arrival,” a news release noted. “Traffic concerns can now be reported online to the Sarnia Police Service or by calling the non-emergency line at 519-344-8861.”
