A 53-year-old Sarnia man was arrested and faces numerous firearm and drugs charges after police executed a search warrant and a Talfourd Street home last month.
The Sarnia Police Service said in a news release that members of the Vice Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed the warrant around 8 p.m. on November 23, in the 800 block of Talfourd Street, in connection to a firearms investigation.
“During a search of the residence, investigators located and seized seven firearms, including a loaded 12-gauge shotgun and 295 rounds of ammunition,” police stated. “In addition to the firearms, investigators also located and seized 10.27 grams of fentanyl, 3.73 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 12 – 75mg bottles of liquid methadone that was not medically prescribed to the accused.”
The accused faces charges of:
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x7); Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x7); Careless Storage of a Firearm (x7); Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (x7); Careless Storage of Ammunition and Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance (x3)
He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date scheduled for January 3rd, 2024.
