Dear Editor,
I would just like to say the presentation on the need to keep and maintain our airport was excellent and overwhelming. Covid hit us hard with the airline pulling out with no one traveling. I am positive the airport is a big part of Sarnia's growth and expansion. It's VITAL! If we don't have an airport we're snuffing out many great opportunities for the city, community, and county of Sarnia-Lambton.
I believe a good restaurant that you can taxi up to, right at the airport, would boom. When I learned to fly on Sunday mornings and other times, pilots flew up to Goderich, Hamilton, and Kitchener for breakfast or lunch. For enjoyment and building up their flying hours. Private pilots truly promote the interest and love of flying, encouraging people to learn to fly, and encouraging young people to check out all the aviation careers. It would be nice to have a nice pilots lounge (no booze) just a hangout. With a large window so you could watch the aircraft. Maybe a couple of vending machines. Pilots love to gather and hanger fly. To do this our airport needs a complete face lift to bring business. Council to keep it OPEN was the best decision.
