PHOTOS: Ukrainian families celebrate Feast of St. Nicholas

Dozens gathered at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sarnia over the weekend to celebrate the Feast of St.Nicholas.

The celebration included a concert by both adults and children, food, and gift bags for children, provided by the Knights of Columbus.

“Our huge thanks to Save Ukraine Sarnia, Cassandra (Taylor) and her team for their support in so many ways,” said Olya Komirenko, who fled to Sarnia from war-torn Ukraine, while pregnant, last year. Her family is among many here building a new life. “Many guests who have been living in Canada for a long time or who have Ukrainian roots were able to remember their childhood.”
