Multi-Use Path represents a pivotal moment in Sarnia's journey towards accessibility

The Sarnia Journal has partnered with the nuSarnia Foundation to feature a series of stories promoting active transportation and community wellness.

Exciting news, Sarnia!

Thanks to funding from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, the City of Sarnia is initiating an incredible project – the construction of the new London Line Multi-Use Path. This project addresses a pressing need for pedestrian facilities in the city's eastern growth boundary area, offering a safe and accessible route for residents and students alike. With Lambton College situated nearby, students will benefit greatly from the new multi-use path, providing a secure route for commuting to and from campus.

Additionally, marginalized populations in the area will find increased accessibility, promoting inclusivity and equal access to transportation options. The development of the London Line Multi-Use Path is a win for active transportation advocacy in Sarnia. By creating a safe separation between pedestrians, cyclists, and motor vehicles, this project enhances safety and encourages more people to embrace walking and cycling as viable modes of transportation.

This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to expand Sarnia's multi-use trail system from east to west, fostering connectivity and community engagement. By addressing long-standing safety concerns on a busy stretch of London Line, the new path promotes a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle for residents while enhancing overall road safety.

The construction of the London Line Multi-Use Path represents a pivotal moment in Sarnia's journey towards creating a more accessible, connected, and vibrant community for all.
