It will cost more to use the Blue Water Bridge starting April 1.
Crossing in a car from Point Edward to Port Huron will cost $4 in Canadian funds, a 50-cent increase.
If you pay in U.S. funds the toll will remain unchanged at $3.50, the Federal Bridge Corporation said last week.
A decline in the number of passenger vehicles and a weak Canadian dollar are responsible for the increase, said spokesperson Andre Girard.
A similar hike will apply to commercial vehicle rates.
The last toll hike on the bridge was in 2013 when the loonie was at par with the U.S. dollar.
Girard said the corporation is also phasing out the use of bridge tokens as of April 1, but a commuter discount program would be available later this year.
