The images seen here were some of the entries in a competition involving 34 students in the Digital Photography program at Lambton College.
Picking the winners wasn’t an easy task for the judges.
“It was an inspirational display of photographs,” said judge Glenn Ogilvie, an award-winning photojournalist and staff member at The Journal.
“These are first and second-year students, and their level of achievement is just fantastic.”
Also judging the annual Image Challenge were Leonard Segall, of the Sarnia Photographic Club, and commercial photographer Petro Tiahur, of Luxe Photography Co.
The trio needed an entire day on April 17 to judge 141 entries and provide the students with constructive critiques along the way.
Professor Richard Beland said the digital photography program is where technical skills and creativity meet.
The quality of this year’s entries “are proof of this successful synthesis, “ he said.
