The people who round up stray dogs and write up parking tickets are now one and the same in Sarnia.
City hall has consolidated its three bylaw enforcement units into a single division, a move that’s expected to save money and speed response times, said Jane Cooper, director of planning and building.
Staff have been cross-training to handle all enforcement issues and work out of a single office.
As of Jan. 1, residents can call one number about parking tickets, unsafe businesses, uncut grass, property standards, zoning infractions and animal complaints, such as dogs running at large, licensing and dead or injured wildlife.
The office is in the Sarnia Parking Authority building, 226 Wellington St., now open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.
Bylaw enforcement officers can be reached by calling 519-332-0330, ext. 3501, by email at [email protected] and online at http://sarnia.ca/contact
