Sarnia’s Special Olympics curling team, the "Super Rockers," is set to host its inaugural Funspiel on Saturday, February 1, 2025, welcoming 39 athletes across 10 teams from Southwestern Ontario.

The "Super Rockers," Sarnia’s Special Olympics curling team, are preparing to host their first-ever Funspiel at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club on February 1, 2025. This one-day event will bring together 39 athletes from 10 teams across Southwestern Ontario to celebrate sportsmanship and camaraderie in a fun-filled curling competition.

The event will feature three games throughout the day, starting at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to attend and cheer on the athletes from the club’s Curling Lounge, which will be open to the public for the duration of the competition. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase at the lounge, enhancing the experience for attendees.

Entry to the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club will be restricted to the front entrance on Errol Road for the day of the event.

The Funspiel marks an important milestone for the Super Rockers, showcasing the spirit of Special Olympics while fostering community support for local athletes.
