A pair of hockey teams comprised of girls from across Lambton County had a successful weekend at the Battle of Toronto Spring Hockey Tournament this month.
The Bluewater Blaze U11 ‘BB’ and U13 ‘BB’ included players from Sarnia, Mooretown and Petrolia, on hand for the three-day tournament. The U13 team also included five players from Barrie, Ont.
Both teams earned their tickets to the finals, Sunday, with the U11 team earning silver, and the U13 team going undefeated and bringing home gold.
The Bluewater Blaze is a non-profit spring hockey group launched by Sarnia native and former professional hockey player Kyle Doyle, in an effort to help champion girls’ hockey and foster new friendships and lasting memories.
Team jerseys and sweaters were designed and printed locally by Brian Dewagner of Lake Chipican Hockey Co.
