On the 25th of July 2024 at 1pm, the Sarnia Police responded to a single vehicle collision in on Cathcart Boulevard near Colbourne Road. The 55 year old female driver had struck a pole in a parking lot which was witnessed by an off duty SPS officer. Patrol officers arrived and observed the driver to display signs of impairment and subsequently placed her under arrest. She was transported to the Sarnia Police Service facility where she provided samples of breath. The breath samples revealed her to be impaired by alcohol (3 X the legal limit).
Fortunately no one was injured as a result of this occurrence.
The Sarnia Police Service would like to remind the community that if you are planning to consume alcohol, to make alternate arrangements if you plans to travel by vehicle.
