Located at 1000 Finch Drive in Sarnia, Brownstones Sports Lounge & Restaurant offers a perfect balance of great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and plenty of sports action on their massive TVs. It’s easy to overlook sports bars, thinking they’ll be filled with rowdy patrons yelling at the TV and chugging schooners, but that’s definitely not the case here. Brownstones has a warm, inviting environment that’s suitable for all kinds of gatherings, whether it’s a family meal or a casual night out with friends. They have one of the best Caesars in town, and they even have orange pop on tap!
We recently stopped in for dinner and decided to try their Jalapeno Burger. The house-made patty was perfectly juicy and came topped with bacon, melted mozzarella, onions, BBQ sauce, jalapenos, and a rich garlic aioli. The flavours were balanced beautifully—the tangy BBQ sauce and creamy aioli paired perfectly with the heat of the jalapenos. Served alongside a bowl of their creamy tomato bisque, which was thick and hearty, it made for an ideal meal as we approach soup season.
Before our mains, we started with the Jalapeno Poppers, which were topped with bacon and filled with cream cheese. These poppers were unique, as they were not breaded, making them feel lighter and less greasy than the usual version. We found them easy to eat and full of smoky, creamy flavour with just enough spice from the jalapenos to keep things interesting. It was a rich but not overwhelming appetizer that set a great tone for the rest of our meal.
Another appetizer we tried was the Philly Cheesesteak Spring Rolls. These crispy rolls were stuffed with beef, melted cheese, and onions. They’re a fun and tasty twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak and are the perfect dish to share with friends, especially on game day. We could easily see these becoming a hit for Super Bowl Sundays.
For our main course, we also sampled the shrimp tacos. The shrimp were cooked to perfection, with a nice crispness that gave the tacos great texture. The portion was generous, and the tacos were full of fresh, bright flavours. Paired with sweet potato fries, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, this was another winning aspect of the meal.
The atmosphere at Brownstones is one of its standout features. While it’s undeniably a sports bar, it doesn’t have the chaotic vibe we sometimes associate with those spaces. Instead, it’s laid-back and comfortable, making it a great spot for anyone to enjoy a meal while catching a game. The large TVs ensure you won’t miss any action, and the staff’s friendly, attentive service made us feel right at home.
Brownstones Sports Lounge & Restaurant is more than just a sports bar—it’s a place where you can enjoy good food in a welcoming, relaxed environment. Whether you're craving a burger, tacos, or creative appetizers, Brownstones has something for everyone. We’ll definitely be returning, especially as the cooler weather makes their hearty menu even more tempting.
