James “Jim” Brian Winder died suddenly, at his home, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with Leukemia, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Mary Kathryn “Toots” Winder for 68 years. Loving father of Ron (Debra) Winder, Kathryn (Alan) Cuthbertson, Laurie (Brian) Warwick, Brian (Suzanne) Winder, Mary Ellen (Thomas) Kerrigan. Cherished grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Joseph (Debra) Winder and David (Gloria) Winder and brother-in-law Jim Butler. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Madeline Winder, his brothers Robert (Marguerite) and Ronald. He retired from Suncor after a successful career as a procurement manager in the petrochemical industries. The family would like to thank Dr. Saini, Dr. Kim, and Care Partners for their care and compassion through Jim’s battle with leukemia. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with family and friends being received one hour prior from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to London Health Sciences (Cancer Research), St. Joseph’s Hospice or Terry Fox Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).
