Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Robert “Bob” Watters passed away at the age of 93. Loving father of Mary (Jim) Vanderwal, Mike (Cindy) Martyn, Russ (Kathy) Watters, Lynn (Gary) Le Faive, Jane (Ed) Linton, Lori Maisano, Patrick (Liz) Martyn, and father-in-law of Sally Martyn. Cherished grandfather of 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Marie Mitchell and Betty Watters. Bob will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Betty Watters (nee Tithecott/Martyn), son Scott Martyn, grandson Keegan Linton, son-in-law Sal Maisano, and his siblings; Bill, John, Jerry, and Ruth Watters. Bob was the ultimate family man. He was the glue that kept everyone together and the calming presence keeping everyone on an even keel. He will be remembered by all as “Mr. Canadian Tire” having worked as the manager for the Sporting Goods department for many years. Bob loved his family visits at the nursing home and always ensured he was well stocked with a candy or chocolate bar to give. The family wishes to thank the staff at Lambton Meadowview Villa for their tremendous care for our father over the years. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation held one hour prior from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
