Singing “Down in the valley where the green grass grows,” Betty Grace Wagner (Napper) passed peacefully on February 19th at CEE Hospital, lovingly surrounded by her children in her last days. Betty has lived at Albany Retirement Home for the past four years and will be missed by her Albany family and staff.
Beloved wife of the late Inez Wagner (2014) for 62 years. Much loved mother of Carey Wagner, Wendy Tremblay (Marcel), and Jody Wagner.
Proud grandma of Lee Anne (Bruce) Sargeant, Jennifer (Mike) Fleischauer, Abbi (Brad) Morrison and Jessie (Justin) Cepek.
Loving great grandma Betty to Jacob, Paige and Allie Sargeant, Kailyn Fleischauer, Matthew, Marcus, Mykel and McKinlay Morrison, Cole, Alma and Sawyer Cepek.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick Lorne (1945) and Hazel Laura (nee Brown 1960) Napper.
Shy six days before her 90th birthday, Betty was the last surviving of nine siblings: Predeceased by Lorne (“Abe”) Napper, Thomas (“Charlie”) (Jean), Raymond Napper, Ruby (Bert) Fraser, Gordon Napper, Doris (Jim) Healy, June (Archie) Simard, Earl (Norma) Napper, Shirley (Manley) McLachlin.
She is also survived by her sisters-in-laws, Lise Wagner, Geraldine Ritchie and Mary Wagner. Many nieces and nephews will miss Betty.
Betty loved eating out, taking road trips, playing bingo, and going to the slots, but she mostly loved her children, granddaughters, and 11 great-grandchildren. Every time upon meeting Betty, she would ask the question, “What’s new today?”
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 3rd, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Pauls United church, Petrolia Visitors will be recieved prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am The Wagner family would like to thank Rev. Carol Ferguson from St. Paul’s United Church for her visits. As well as medical care from Dr. Mall, Dr. Crombeen, Dr. Kim and the staff at Albany Retirement Village in Petrolia for their care and support of our mom.
