Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Vision Nursing Home, Greta Lee Mary van der Grinten passed away at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Fred van der Grinten for 41 wonderful years. Loving mother of Vickie (Randy) McKay, Victor (Gwen) van der Grinten, and Lorrie (the late Bob) Kershaw. Cherished grandmother of Michelle McKay, Doug (Corinne) Kershaw, Rob Kershaw, Tyson (Trish) van der Grinten, and Melissa (Ryan) Martin. Treasured great-grandmother to many great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Greg (the late Sally) Dubreuil, Allan (Rita) Dubreuil, Shirley (the late John) Hornblower, Pat (Jim) Simpson, Rick (Peg) Dubreuil, Randy (Fran) Dubreuil, Cindy (the late Tom) Bernard, and Jeff (the late Sue) Dubreuil. She will be missed by her extended family, Panda and Zoya Shetty and their family. Predeceased by her parents Romeo and Dorothy Dubreuil.
Greta was a hard worker, always putting her heart into the things she cared about. She had a passion for cooking, enjoyed playing bingo, and loved spending time bowling. The family would like to extend a thank you to Vision Nursing Home for the exceptional care they provided to Greta in her final days.
Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Greta’s wishes, no services will be held.
