Peacefully, at the age of 88, surrounded by loving family, on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, Roseann Beverly Thompson went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and was reunited with her beloved husband Ronald James Thompson. Roseann is the daughter of the late Clifford and Jennie Hillis and sister of the late Jeanette Sayers and Peter Hillis. Loving mother of Mark (Marlene), Deborah (the late Ray), the late Clayton (Carol), the late Kendal (Maryann), Johanan (Stephanie), Timothy, and Jeremy. Cherished grandmother of Corrie, Christie, the late Clifford, Jennie-Ruth, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Courtney, Cole, Abigail, Kenneth, Christopher, Carolynn, Corinne, Caleb, Steven, Samantha, Jennifer, Holly, Jacinda, and Jexlyn, plus many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Roseann loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved being in fellowship with the Christians at Oil Springs and Owen Sound Gospel Halls and in her spare time she enjoyed painting in watercolour. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation held prior from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment in Oil City Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Gospel Trust Canada (www.gospeltrust.ca), the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).
