It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Stanley Sourkes, on June 27, 2024 at 77 years old.
Richard is predeceased by his parents Edythe and Joseph Sourkes of Ottawa and is survived by his brother, Howard Sourkes of New York. Richard will be missed by his extended family members and friends.
Richard was born in Ottawa but grew up in Montreal. He attended and graduated from McGill University. He went on to attend the University of Windsor and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 1972 along with his Master’s Degree in Social Work in 1973. Richard worked as a Social Worker and Counsellor with many local organizations including the Children’s Aid Society and London Regional Cancer Centre until his retirement in 2002.
