Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Bluewater Health, Richard Thomas Somerville passed away at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Mary Lee Somerville. Loving father of Jeffrey Somerville (Murlena), Kevin Someville (Shelly), and Michael Somerville (Meghan). Cherished grandfather of Eric, Joel, Lauren, Sarah, Mitchell, Samuel, Isaac, and Mya. Dear brother of Ian Somerville (Linda), Anne Marie Barclay (Charlie), and Kathrine Mann (Andy). Predeceased by his father Thomas Somerville, mother Bernice Somerville, niece Jennifer Barclay. Richard enjoyed football, baseball, and hockey in his younger years and in his later years, he enjoyed curling. Richard was a lifelong dairy farmer and member of the Camlachie United Church. He was the secretary/treasurer of the Camlachie Odd Fellows for over 30 years, a Chartered member of the Huron Shores Optimist and he served as the secretary/treasurer of the Lambton County Holstein Club for 26 years. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Richard’s life will be held at Camlachie United Church, 6784 Camlachie Rd., Camlachie, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Canadian Cancer Society, the Camlachie United Church, or a charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
