Jacquelynne (Jacki) was born in Port Huron to John (Jack) and Margaret (Margie) Hill on July 14, 1962. Jacki grew up in a busy house, with sisters Janice and Sharon, and brother Greg. She spent her early years running from yard to yard with her many cousins that lived on Yeager Street. Jacki graduated from Port Huron Central in 1980. She spent many years working at St. Clair Community Mental Health, before crossing the river to work as Executive Secretary at Family Counselling Centre in Sarnia. She loved helping her community and was loved by both clients and colleagues in return.

Jacki is the mother of two beautiful children, Gregory (Anna) and Kristen Young. Jacki was a devoted mother, making countless trips to specialist appointments in Montreal, baking “Gregory’s chocolate chip cookies” and working hard to make sure her children had the opportunity to obtain post-secondary certifications and excel in their careers.

Jacki married the love of her life Thomas (Tom) Smith on New Year’s Eve, 2006. She was fascinated by outer space, extreme weather and the paranormal. She was happiest when the sun was shining. In her last years, she bravely faced MS and subsequently a cancer diagnosis. Her family remained an enormous source of strength, pride and joy for her. She passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation held prior from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Lambton Shrine Club or the Family Counselling Centre (cheques only at the funeral home please).
