Peacefully, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Vision Nursing Home, Lee passed away at the age of 81. Beloved husband of the late Connie Slaght. Loving father of Michelle (Shawn Ferguson) and Carla Chalmers (Sean Berry) and proud Papa of Cailan, his cherished grandson. Lee was predeceased by his mother Christine, his father Patrick and stepmother Stella and brothers Doug and Patrick. He will be missed by sisters Judy Nickle (Glen), Frani Yoshida (Ken) and sisters-in-law Anne Slaght and Bernice Slaght. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his many cousins who he enjoyed spending time with.

Lee was always the life of the party. He lived life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Lee was an avid sports fan cheering on all of the Toronto teams and never missing a game on TV whenever he got the chance. He loved his home and tending to his yard and gardens and took pride in having one of the best Christmas light displays in the neighborhood. Lee proudly served over 30 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Warrant Officer for the Royal Canadian Dragoons (RCDs). Following his dedicated service, he transitioned to the civilian sector, concluding his career at Bayer/Lanxess.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Lee’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to a charity of your choice. Memories and condolences may be sent online at www.smithfuneralhome.ca
