With his daughters by his side, Larry passed away peacefully after his journey with dementia.

Larry was the beloved husband of Marj, a devoted father to Sue-Anne and Mary-Ellen, and an adored Papa to Joseph and wife Janna, Erin, and Jacob. He is predeceased by his cherished family, including parents Lawrence and Bridget, brother John Clarence, and sisters Patricia, Anne (sister of St. Joseph), and Sheila. Larry's deep-seated love for his hometown, Port Hope, ON, and his profound connection to his Irish heritage were evident to anyone who knew him. As a passionate teacher, devout and active Roman Catholic, political enthusiast, and lifelong Liberal, Larry's multifaceted life resonated with purpose and commitment.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial, honoring Larry's life, will take place at Sacred Heart Church, 1465 Lecaron Ave., Sarnia, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a burial at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be conveyed through donations to VON – Adult Day Program, Vision Nursing Home, or Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton (cheques only at the funeral home, please).

Larry's devotion to his faith, family, and community will forever endure in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
