It is with saddened hearts that the family of Robert (Bob) Scott announces his passing at Bluewater Health on December 26, 2024, at the age of 91. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Margaret (Armstrong) Scott. Loving father of Janice (Ed) Brennan, Sarnia and Ian (Christine) Scott, Point Edward. Proud grandpa of Beau Brennan, Nicole (Sean) Sullivan, Logan Scott & Taylor Scott as well as over-joyed new great grandpa to Tessa Sullivan.  Bob was predeceased by his cherished daughter Marilyn (1982) as well as his parents Charles & Ivy (Perry) Scott, brothers Norman Scott & John Scott and sisters Anne Barry, Margaret Kilbreath, Dorothy Baines and Patricia Knight.

Bob was a true Point Boy having been born in the Point Edward Scott family home on Victoria Avenue & living the rest of his life in the Point until age necessitated a move to Vision Rest Home for extra care.

Bob married the love of his life, Marg Armstrong, in early 1959. At age 18, he embarked on an over 40-year career at Dow Chemical as a pipe fitter where he was a member of the President’s Honour Club.  Bob & Marg enjoyed many trips with the Dow Social Club as well as many Dow dances over the years.  He was a long-time member of the Pt. Edward Ex-Serviceman’s Club, for many years volunteered with the Pt. Edward Fire Department and was a current member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church and previously Point Edward United Church.

Bob loved to golf and over the years had memberships at both Camlachie & Confederation Golf Courses.  He was a longtime Detroit Tigers and Toronto Maple Leafs fan but the teams he cheered the most for were any that his children and grandchildren were a part of.

Bob was deeply devoted to his family, could light up a room with his smile and taught us all how to love, live and appreciate life to the fullest.  Family was everything and family get-togethers were his “happy place”.

Travelling & family vacations were very important to Bob & Marg and they enjoyed camping all across Canada numerous times as well as trips south and to Europe.

Thanks to Dr. Greensmith & Barb, Dr. Martin, Dr. Farag, Lorie Harper RN Pulmonary Rehab Program, Dick Reddick from Bayshore, Dr. Winch, staff at Bluewater Health as well as all the excellent staff and residents at Vision Rest Home who made him feel cared for and welcome from the day he arrived. Our family will be forever grateful for your kindness through the years.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with family and friends being received one-hour prior from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Sarnia Humane Society, St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Point Edward or the charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
