Peacefully, on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Afton Park Place, Eileen Scott passed away at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late John Scott (2015). Loving mother of John (Carol) and the late Sylvia (2006). Cherished grandmother of Paul (Johanne), Kenneth (Laura), Cory and Eric. Treasured great-grandmother of Kyan, Aiden, Mckenna, Braeden, Emma, Hannah, Daniel and Hope. Survived by her son-in-law Bruce Coulter, as well as many nieces and nephews in Ireland and Canada. Predeceased by her parents, Francis and Elizabeth Picking, and her five siblings. Eileen emigrated from Belfast in 1957. Upon starting her new life in Sarnia, Eileen worked in the cafeteria at St. Clair High School. She was a member of Dunlop United Church. When she was not with her loving family, you could often find Eileen knitting. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank the staff of Afton Park Place for their care of mom over the last few years. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with family and friends being received one hour prior to the service. A private family interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
