The family of Jim (James) Rowe sadly announces that Jim passed away unexpectedly in his home on Monday January 29, 2024. Jim was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Roselle Marie Rowe (née Murphy). Beloved father of Allan Rowe, Jeff (Marina) Rowe, and Lynn Brown. Cherished Poppa of Jared, Erin, Jaime, James, Dustin, Colton & Autumn. Loved brother of Joyce (Tom, late) Zygaj, and the late Stan Harding, Rene (Bob) Page, Joan (Bob, surviving) Charbonneau, and John Rowe. Dear brother-in-law of Gord (Carol) Murphy, Doug (Dianne) Murphy, and the late Bunny (Stu) Moore. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and cousins and his dear cat and nemesis Georgie. With expert proficiency in carpentry, masonry, bricklaying, and myriad other crafts, Jim not only designed and built his family’s home by hand, but also orchestrated its relocation and multiple renovations. It stands today as a testament to his ingenuity, having endured decades of storms, natural wear, and the joyful chaos of his children and grandchildren. While Jim was eternally modest, he was an undeniable force of energy who could be found felling trees, climbing roofs, and chasing geese out of his backyard even into his eighties. He continued to master hobbies and solve problems until the day of his passing. Between his woodcraft projects, engineer’s mind, and photographic vision, he leaves his family and friends with countless gifts of love. Jim even proved himself undeterred by modern technology by becoming a self-taught expert in photo manipulation, wherein he expressed his singular and inimitable sense of humour. None of Jim’s qualities surpassed his love and devotion to his late wife Roselle, upon whom he doted until his final breath, never missing a day of watching the video montage he created in her memory to see her and hear her voice and laughter. Friends and family will be received at McCormack Funeral Home - Stewart Chapel, 254 George Street (at College Avenue) on Thursday February 1st from 6-8pm, where the family will have on display his woodworking crafts and computer image wizardry. Funeral Service will take place at McCormack Funeral Home - Stewart Chapel on Friday February 2nd at 1pm. Loved ones are invited to share their favourite stories at the service. Cremation and interment will follow. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in "Jim’s Guestbook" at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may send donations to Multiple Myeloma Canada in honour of Roselle or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
