It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother Walter Curtis Rogers (Apache, Waldo) on July 13, 2024 with his common law wife Teresa Perfrement by his side at the South Grey Bruce Hospital. Walter is a band member of Aamjiwnaang First Nation, but has lived in Kincardine, ON for the last 19 years where he and his giant Gorilla entertained the crowds for the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band Parade during the summers. He attended the Bluewater Church and The Bridge. Walter was a master at playing scrabble, 10,000, and telling wild stories. He like to buy lottery tickets, smoking weed, drinking beer and his cognac. He always fed the squirrels and loved his dogs. Walter leaves behind his common-law wife of 24 years, Teresa, his sisters Diane Aiken, Wanda Maness, Ada Lockridge, Dawn Lisi, and his brother Bradley Rogers. Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Nancy Rogers and his brothers Michael and Daniel (NuNu) and Bert Manning. Grandpa Walt to Eli, Jayce, Madison, Olivia, Penelope, and Faith. Cherished uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle to many, and special uncle to Darcy, Randi, Kelly, Aazra, Shazia, and Faiza. Walter spent many years in prison all across Ontario and one in the USA by request, exercising his Native Rights. A memorial service will be held at Maawn Doosh Gumig, 1972 Virgil Ave, Sarnia, on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visiting happening one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Aamjiwnaang First Nation Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Aamjiwnaang Food Bank (cheques only at the funeral home please).

Forever loved and never forgotten.
