David Douglas Peters, a spirited charmer who touched the heart of everyone he met, left us on February 19th, 2025. Born on September 12th, 1968, his contagious smile, quick sense of humor and love of everything in life left an indelible mark on the lives of those around him.
Survived by his parents Rosemary and Bob Churchill, his brother Jeff and his children Brendan, Dylan and Addison, his brother Dan and his wife Susan and their children Jake and Meaghan, Aunt Kathy, Sean and Ryan, Uncle Ken and Aunt Carla, and Aunt Norma.
David lived a charmed life, kept full by involvement with Special Olympics and the amazing staff of Lambton County Developmental Services. His hat and jersey collections stand as a testament to his love of sports - especially hockey, baseball, and of course wrestling. David loved food - spaghetti and meatballs being the ultimate favorite - but even more so he loved banquets. The evening wasn't done until he'd danced with every lady present!
While his passing leaves a hole in our hearts, cherished memories of a life well lived will carry his spirit forward.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lambton County Developmental Services (lcdspetrolia.ca). The family will be having a private memorial service, with a celebration of life to be held in David's honor at a future date.
