PACHECO. Cidalia Maria (nee Caetano) – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Cidalia Maria on January 8, 2024, at Trillium Villa Nursing Home. We were blessed to celebrate her 87th Christmas together as a family. Cidalia very peacefully left us to join her husband Alfredo (2006). Cidalia is survived and loved by her family; son Getulio “Stu” (Mary) and daughter Analia (Don) Davis; grandchildren Nicole Davis (Glenroy), Daniel Davis (Marta) and Adam Pacheco and great grandchildren Davis, Elliott, Weston and Colson. Also survived by her sister Maria (Jose) Pimentel and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Manuel & Maria Caetano.
Cidalia was born August 26, 1936, in Lomba da maia, Sao Miguel, Acores where she married Alfredo. Together with their two children they immigrated to Canada in 1965 where they built a life together in Sarnia. Mom worked for Marshall Gowland Manor for 25 years. After retirement she returned as a volunteer in their outreach program until the age of 75. She also tirelessly volunteered at her beloved Portuguese Canadian Club of Sarnia. Mom’s many passions included cooking for her family, gardening, crocheting, knitting, Sunday drives and bridge fries. Mom was the best Avó and Avózinha. She loved and adored her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was her life and the void she has left in our lives is immeasurable.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Trillium Villa for their loving care and compassion shown to our mother. Special thank you to Dr. Lilly and the excellent care she received at Bluewater Health emergency department.
