On January 22, 2024, 6:04 a.m. at Bluewater Health, Sarnia, Roberta “Bobbi” Anne Oliver died at the age of 73. Predeceased by her soulmate, Peter Oliver (2009) and her parents, William and Eileen Mitchell. She leaves behind a devastated wake of devoted family; her daughters the Venerable Kristen (Jeff) Aikman and Laura (Jason) Hodgins, her cherished grandsons Peter and Indiana Hodgins, her cousin and chosen sister, Brenda (Steve) Kropf, and the entire Johns, Mitchell and Oliver families. Whether you called her Roberta, Bobbi, Aunt Bobbi, Nana or Mum, her greeting of choice was a hug. Bobbi grew up in Hamilton amongst many other places. Often having to change schools at the end of each school year to move into the subdivision her dad’s company was building. Bobbi was a cheerleader in high school where she met the handsome football player, Peter. They dated through high school and married shortly after that. Theirs was a great love. Eventually buying a home in Sarnia, they set down roots, raised two daughters and Bobbi never had to move again. Bobbi worked as a dental hygenist for 25 years and retired early with her enormous fully read book collection. After Peter’s death in 2009, Bobbi and her girls Kristen and Laura took up weekly pottery lessons to both be creative but mostly to have fun together. Their other great pastimes were antiquing, shopping, and laughing. Bobbi was overjoyed to welcome both of her son’s-in-law into the family, and later two grandsons Peter and Indiana, all of whom she loved with her whole heart.
