Peacefully, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Bluewater Health, Donald Alexander Oleniuk passed away at the age of 92. Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Norma (nee Somes) Oleniuk (2015) and the late Lucy Snider (2024). Loving father of Kirk (Linn), Christine (Mathew), Robin (Dave), Eric (Eileen), John (Jill) and Annie (Lee). Cherished grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of David (Diane), Elaine (the late Bruce) and Ronald (Judy) and brother-in-law of Eva Oleniuk and John (Joan) Somes. Predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Olive Oleniuk, and by his siblings, Oliver (Norma) and George. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Bluewater Health – Palliative Care for their care and compassion shown to Don. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with family and friends being received from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A private burial of ashes will be held at a later date.
