With broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Aleksandra Nouvel, on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Bluewater Health at the age of 76. Beloved wife of the late Henryk Jan Nouvel (2008). Loving and cherished mother of Beata (Andrzej) Malysa, Aneta (Marek) Surdyka, Aldona Wark (Reg Maano) and Paulina (Brian) Dillon. Proud Babi of Sebastian (Madeline) Malysa, Ella Malysa, Gosia Dodds, and Nicole (Luke) VanReenen, Patrick (Mia VanderHeide) Surdyka, Alexi and Scarlett Wark, and great-Babcia to six great-grandchildren. Treasured sister of Włodzimierz Łuka and Małgorzata Leśniowska. Very special aunt and godmother to Joanna Domańska and special Babcia-Ola to Natasza Domańska. Predeceased by her parents Władysław and Marianna Łuka and son-in-law Jamie Wark. Our Mama and Babi was loved beyond words. Her gentle spirit inspired us in our daily lives. She had such a profound impact on everyone who was blessed to know her. Her love for nature and animals alike was expressed in the many ways she resonated with the beauty around her. She noticed every flower, every little critter, the presence of every sunrise and sunset. She loved feeding her chipmunks and squirrels. She was not one to waste any food, so you could always find some stale bread on her counter to keep her backyard animals happy. Ola was a true definition of unconditional love, and her loyalty for her family shined bright. Her family was her world and she was ours, as she had a way of bringing and keeping us all together. Family dinners were a priority to her and a pleasure for us, since her cooking was incredible. We will cherish the many valuable lessons she has taught us, as we continue to honour her legacy. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A traditional Polish-Catholic Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Peace Church, 566 Rosedale Ave., Sarnia, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Sarnia. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
