Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Bluewater Health, Anthony “Tony” Newton passed away at the age of 83. A devoted father and partner, Tony was a family-oriented man known for his dry wit and love of sarcasm. He loved to see people laugh and his love language was jokes and memes. He loved games, playing endless board games with his son Paul. Video games, crosswords and puzzles kept him sharp. He loved music of all genres but especially listening to his grandson, Spencer, playing the piano. He travelled often to keep connections with his daughter, Angela and his granddaughter, Sara, and always needed to know what was happening in their lives. Born in Thornton, England, Tony followed his sister Beryl to Canada in 1977 with his family in tow. Tony was a flooring salesman at Custom Floors for 30 years. He took pride in his work at a family-owned business, and he was well suited to a job that allowed him to meet all kinds of people. He was incredibly charismatic and made friends with everyone. Tony met his love Mary, later in life, and cherished every moment they had together, laughing like teenagers in love for the first time. Tony lived humbly with an eye to his relationships and the legacy of love he would leave. He is survived by his children, Paul and Angela (Tony); his sister, Beryl (Derek); his partner, Mary; grandchildren, Sara and Spencer; along with beloved nieces and nephews and extended family. "Old salesmen never die, they just go out of commission"
