It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Bruce Milburn, of Forest Ontario, announces his passing, in his 81st year, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, on Monday January 20th 2025. Predeceased by the love of his life Judy, with whom he is finally reunited, his parents Edna and William, his mother-in-law Edith Patterson, brother Ken, brothers-in-law Howard Henry, Bill Hunt, Pete VanGrinsven and Jack Ferguson. Survived and missed by his sisters-in-law Nancy Milburn, Pat VanGrinsven, Cheryl Johnson (David Mann), his siblings Judy Henry, and Pat Hunt, and his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Don worked for over 40 years as an electrician, starting in his father’s business (Milburn Electric) with his brother Ken, from the same day he finished high school. Don took an early retirement to care for his wife Judy when she became ill. Don grew up in Ravenswood. He had the gift to gab and loved sharing stories from his past with family and friends. He loved gardening, feeding his beloved birds and chipmunk friends, spending time outside, a good cup of coffee, and was very interested in genealogy. His favorite vacation spot with Judy was at Dew's cottage, on Monk lake, near Bancroft, where they enjoyed their time there as often as possible. He played hockey for many years and especially loved spending his time with the "Old timers Hockey League", where he was known as "Chico". Don always had a positive outlook, forever telling his family and friends to keep smiling. Don had a wonderful sense of humour and could often be heard saying his favorite lines: "been in long pants too long" or "whatever blows your dress up".
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Contact House or the Forest Food Bank.
As per Dons wishes, cremation has taken place.
