Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on April 22, 2024, at Home, Joseph “Joe” William McGrail passed away at the age of 78. Cherished husband and best friend of Lois (Wilkins) McGrail for 53 ½ years. Devoted and loving father to Mike and Karen McGrail, Steve and Lisa McGrail, Jolene and Jordan McCallum, and Matt and Erika McGrail. Treasured “Papa” to Megan (Josh), Kevin (Fiona) and Tyler McGrail, Jace (Dannika) and Kylie (2004) McGrail, Ella and Charlie McCallum and Quinn and Madison McGrail. Dear brother and brother-in-law to John and Sharon McGrail, Greg and Marianne (2023) Gable, Ken and Geraldine Wilkins, Rob (2022) and Gale Wilkins, Kevin and Lorna Wilkins. Predeceased by his parents John and Catherine McGrail. Joe enjoyed his over 50 years as a Real Estate Broker. He enjoyed playing and watching baseball. He loved his years with the Mandaumin Mad Dogs and the Wyoming McGrail 2-Pitch teams. Despite all the bumps and bruises and broken glasses it brought him great enjoyment. Joe was the number 1 fan to his Grandchildren’s sports and activities. He was a true family man, and would spend time with family and friends as often as he could. In the past few months he enjoyed going to the Adult Enrichment Centre. Many thanks to Lindsay and Becky for making his time there fun. Joe loved his convertible and taking drives with the top down. Special places he visited were the Bluewater Bridge, Niagara Falls, and relaxing rides along the river to Wallaceburg for Chinese food. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1:30 PM, interment to follow at Mount Calvary, Wyoming, ON. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Adult Enrichment Centre at Meadowview Villa (cheques only at the funeral home please).
