With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Carolyn Elizabeth McEwen, a beacon of love, kindness, and strength, who departed from this world on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the age of 60. Beloved wife of Gord McEwen for 39 years. Loving mother of Nicole McEwen and Lauren McEwen (Justin Wilson). Cherished grandmother of Riley and Max. Treasured daughter of Bill and Dorothy Miller. Dear sister of Colleen (Tony) DiMaria, Susan Parker and Andrea (Robert) Johnson, and sister-in-law of Rick Clark, Marilyn (Bill) DeHoog, Doug (Joanna) McEwen, Don (Jeanette) McEwen, and Donna Slade. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by her sisters-in-law Susan Clarke and Sandra McEwen, and brother-in-law Russ Slade. Carolyn was a guiding light, a source of unwavering support, and the heart of our family. Her warm smile could brighten even the darkest of days, and her gentle spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had the best sense of humour and that was evident with the friends she made everywhere. Carolyn enjoyed crafting, sewing, baking, gardening, glamping at Ponderosa, the colour pink, and all things bling. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Please wear pink to the funeral to honour Carolyn. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
