Joyce Manton (nee Walmsley) passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at C.E.E. Hospital in Petrolia in her 92nd year.  Joyce was the beloved wife of the late John for 61 years and proud mother of Janice (Tom) Burns and Jillian Manton and loving grandmother to Nicholas (Trish) Bond and Gregory (Eliot) Chandler-Burns.  She will be missed by her family and many friends. Joyce was born in Manchester, England to the late John and Hilda Walmsley. She grew up in Harpenden, England, attended school in Hemel Hempstead and later graduated from a lab technician course. She worked as a lab technician at St. Pancras Hospital in London, England until she married John in February 1957. They sailed to Canada a month later. Joyce was a member of the Polysar Glee Club, enjoyed playing tennis at the Sarnia Tennis Club for many years, volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society (Sarnia) and was an active member at Canon Davis Memorial Anglican Church. Joyce’s family would like to thank the staff of Village on the St. Clair for their kindness and compassion shown to her during her stay.

Please honour Joyce by wearing bright colours and a smile. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Canon Davis Memorial Anglican Church (Russell at Maxwell) on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 1-1:45 p.m. The memorial service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. A reception will follow in the church hall.
