With heavy hearts, surrounded by loving family, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Trillium Villa Nursing Home, José “Joe” Machado passed away at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Jennifer Machado. Loving father of Dave Bonin (Kari) and Amanda Machado. Cherished grandfather of Olivia Bonin. Dear brother of Maria Carmelia Rocha (Horacio S. Rocha), Maria Catarina Teixeira (Fernando Teixeira), Madalena Teixeira Machado, Medeiros (the late Domingos Medeiros). Treasured godfather of Paul J. Teixeira. Joe will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents José and Deolinda Machado. Joe loved his family deeply. He enjoyed gardening, building things, and watching soccer (Go Benifca!) He was a very hard worker and was a proud longtime member of Local 1089 with Bricklayers #23. Joe will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Trillium Villa Nursing Home for their compassionate care of Joe. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery at a later date. In keeping with Joe’s wishes no services will be held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Parkinson Canada or Alzheimer’s Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
