While doing what he loved most, working and being productive, Reginald was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the age of 85. Reg is reunited with his loving wife the late Judith Lumley (2022). Loving father of Mark (Melissa) Lumley and Laurie (Steve) Johnson. Cherished grandfather of Olivia (Gage), Jaden (Jenn), Ryan (Lauryn) and Lily; Austin (Lydia), and Tyler. Cherished brother of Dixie (John), Judy (Jim), Helen (John), Paul, and Brad (Tony). Fondly remembered by his many friends and dear extended family including his nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Leslie Lumley, Amy Lumley, step-father Merritt Field, and brother Ross (Judy). The family wishes to thank Lana Swan, who was Reg’s caregiver for the last few years. Reg was a devoted Baptist and was active within the congregation. His strong faith brought him to serve through mission trips in various countries including: Haiti and El Salvador. Reginald was well respected in the farming community as a 3rd generation farmer with a career spanning over 70 years. In retirement, he was an avid gardener and beekeeper. The fresh produce was selflessly donated to local food banks and proceeds from honey and rock sales were donated to charity. A few words to describe him best are: inventor, innovator, determined, philanthropist, and above all, persistent. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation being held one hour prior to the service. A private interment will follow. To honour his philanthropic nature, donations can be made to a charity of your choice that will best help others (cheques only at the funeral home please).
