It is with broken hearts that the family of Patricia “Trish” Loten announce her sudden passing on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the age of 50. Beloved mother of Ryan (Faith) Lapointe, Matthew Lapointe and Kirsten (Zack) Thompson. Loving grandma of Jane Thompson. Cherished daughter of Doug and Elaine Loten. Treasured sister of Kerry (Bryan) Tolson and Kristy (Andrew) Powell. Loving aunt to Jack, Madyn, Ben and Daryn.  Much loved granddaughter to Lillian Dezell and predeceased by grandfather Eldon Dezell and grandparents Bill and Muriel (Gramms) Loten.  Was loved and will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Trish had a deep love of family and always looked forward to family gatherings whether spontaneous or planned like Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  She always enjoyed playing cards with the family and frequently had 5 Crowns night on her days off with her Mom and Dad.  Trish had a great love of animals, especially her two cats Nala and Autumn.  When relaxing in the evenings, she always said she was about to watch some “Trashy TV”.   Her love of music began in high school where Trish excelled at playing the flute in the St Clair band. This eventually changed into a love of less classical music like Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams.  Trish loved reading and going for walks on the boardwalk by the Sarnia Bay.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Trish’s life will be held at the Smith Family Centre (in front of Smith Funeral Home), 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2 to 5PM with Words of Remembrance at 3PM. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Diabetes Society, Sarnia Humane Society or Canadian Mental Health Association (cheques only at the funeral home please).
