Peacefully, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospice Sarnia, Ernest (Ernie) Latif passed away at the age of 87. Predeceased by his loving wife, Mathilda (1993) and son, Bernard (2018). Loving father to Matthew (Debbie) and Ernie (Lisa). Cherished grandfather of Bernie, Derek, Shawn, Elizabeth (Jackson), Alyssa (Jeremy), Camryn, and Alex. Beloved “gramps” to Ted and Sue Armali and their family Christine (Justin) and children Isabella and Jude, Daniel (Camille), and Chantal (Neil) and children Jaiden and Kiran. Adored by many other nieces, nephews, and their families. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas, 895 Champlain Rd., Sarnia, on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice Sarnia and the Canadian Cancer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
