In the early morning of January 14, 2025, surrounded by her family at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Heaven received an angel by the name of Sharon Louise Lacroix (nee Coyle/Guthrie).

With broken hearts, Sharon leaves behind her four children, Kim Case (Ollie), Jackie Winsor (Keith), Mike Guthrie (Lyne), and Denise Moss (Rick). Cherished grandmother of Sarah Case, David Guthrie (Rachel), Daniel Guthrie (Lish), James Winsor, Nathan Guthrie (Hannah), Emily Baughman (AJ), Rachel Case, Elizabeth Hyde (Mason), Matthew Moss, Kayla Bromhall (Jon) and Lexie Salisbury (Shane). Great-grandmother of 16. Sharon is also survived by her brother Jim Coyle (Karen) and sister Sally Bradley (Dick). She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her furry friend, Sally-dog.

Predeceased by parents Bernie and Sadie Coyle, first husband Mitchell Guthrie and second husband Fel Lacroix.
Sharon grew up in Sarnia, graduated from St. Patrick’s High School with honours, married Mitch and worked for an insurance company before starting a family. She was a wonderful housekeeper, seamstress, baker, wise counsellor, mentor, healer, cheerleader, advocate and rock. Mom was very intelligent, an amazingly talented artist, gracious, loving, forgiving, empathetic, humble, generous and exceedingly silly😊 Adored by her grandchildren, “Nanny-Goose” sewed for them, made crafts and painted with them, spoiled them with silly names, chocolate chip cake, and sparklers.
A lifelong member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and the Catholic Women's League, Mom’s unwavering faith sustained her during the many trials and challenges she experienced throughout her life. She was a blessing to each and every one of us and the foundation of our family. Thank you for everything Mom, we love you.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Bluewater Health Palliative Unit for the wonderful care during Mom’s two week stay and to Dr. El-Zubeidi for his guidance.

Although we can’t begin to truly express our gratitude to the “angels on earth” at St. Joseph’s Hospice, thank you, thank you, thank you to Dr. Crombeen, Dr. Kim, Dr. Lilly, Dr. McSweeney, the nurses, PSW’s, kitchen staff, housekeeping staff and the many volunteers who surrounded Mom and our entire family with their warmth, compassion, support, guidance and caring hearts. It was an absolute gift and answer to our prayers during Mom’s final weeks in her life’s journey.

A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 390 Christina Street N., Sarnia on Friday, January 24th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception welcoming family and friends at Smith’s Funeral Home Family Centre, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
