After an extremely courageous battle with Parkinsons, Ambrose Edmond Kyte, known affectionately as "Andy," passed away with his wife by his side, on January 2, 2025, at C.E.E. Hospital in Petrolia, at the age of 84. Beloved husband to Elizabeth (nee Dickson), loving father to Suzanne (Gord Harrison) Kyte, and Chris (Cathy Whiteman) Kyte, and proud and devoted Grampy to Alexander, Braeden, Ceilidh, Kayla, and Cassidy. Andy was born in Toronto and spent much of his life in the community of Petrolia, surrounded by many wonderful friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Edmond and Nelda Kyte, Andy lived a life of service and dedication as a member of Christ Anglican Church, Petrolia. His life-long commitment to his wife, and family was paramount, despite being a quiet reserved man, he expressed his love deeply in many meaningful ways. For many years, he served as a superintendent for CN Rail, traveling all around Ontario, a role that earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. His work ethic, integrity, and commitment to his profession were hallmarks of his character.
Andy’s connection to Petrolia was more than just a place to reside—it was home. He cherished the town and its people, and in return, he was warmly regarded by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service in Andy's honor will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to C.E.E. Hospital (ceehf.ca).

Keep me in your heart
I’ll stay there forever”
