Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Afton Park Place, Alice “Penny” Krull passed away at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Robert “Jim” Krull for 56 wonderful and adventurous years. Loving Mother of Trisha (Mike) Daamen, David Krull, Robert “Chip” Krull (Julie Groulx) and daughter-in-law Tracy Krull. Cherished grandmother of Tayler (Lucas), Alex (Katie), Emma (Connor) Ashton, Kennedy and Cohen and great-grandmother of Grace, Clarity and Ryden. Penny is also survived her brother-in-law David (Sheri) De Sousa and by her two nieces Leah and Cindy. Predeceased by her parents Archie and Agnes Randolph, her sister Libbie, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Ted and Laura Krull, her brother-in-law Glen, her niece Karen and by her nephew Ian. Penny was an active person who had many special talents and hobbies. She particularly enjoyed bowling, golfing, painting, playing piano, as well as creating and teaching pottery in her studio in Wyoming. Penny dedicated her life to helping others and over the years worked at many different jobs such as the Bank of Nova Scotia, the Wyoming Credit Union, The Sarnia Animal Hospital for twenty fulfilling years, Union Gas, Maxim Reporting and Victim Services as a volunteer. Penny and Jim spent several years travelling the world together both by plane and by boat. And although Penny had the opportunity to see the globe, she always held a special place in her heart for Grenada. In the summertime, Penny enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Gananoque and had a special connection with the beach. Penny found the atmosphere of the beach and the sound of the waves to be calming. She was known for perfecting the details of her holiday gatherings as well as spending time with her grandchildren. Penny will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. The family wishes to extend their heart felt thanks to the wonderful staff at Afton Park place for their care and compassion over the last few months.
Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
