It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Perry Kleinsmith at Bluewater Health on Monday, September 9th, 2024, at the age of 71. Loving husband of the late Carla Kleinsmith. Dear father of Jeffery Kleinsmith (Lisa) and Travis Kleinsmith (Kristi). Loving grandfather of Avery, Lincoln, Emma, and August. Special friend & partner to Jamie Nichols. Loving brother of Les Kleinsmith, Connie Yarc (Tony), Paul Kleinsmith (Mary Anne), and the late Arthur Kleinsmith (Trish). Dear brother in law of Greg Laws (Jarie) and the late Bradley Laws. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Dorothy Kleinsmith. Humble & kind, Perry was the quintessential "teddy bear" who would give one the shirt off his back. He could often be found outdoors, taking in the sunshine on the farm or by the beach with his loved ones. He was a constant cheerleader for his cherished grandchildren both at the hockey rink and in the audience for countless recitals. Having spent decades as the small business owner of Kleinsmith & Sons Construction, he made untold & everlasting connections with many in our small community. He will be missed dearly by all of those who loved him, and whom he loved so much in return. Thank you to the caring staff at Bluewater Health. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, 1885 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters Ontario (cheques only at the funeral home please).
