It is with great sadness that the family of Carey Joseph announce his sudden passing, at Bluewater Health, at the age of 58.

Beloved father of Carey (Tiara) and Dana Sands, and stepfather of Janelle Nahmabin, Shaylene Smith White, Neesa Nahmabin and Serena Nahmabin. Treasured step-grandfather of Jaylene MacLean. Cherished son of Arnold (Lucy Williams) Joseph and the late Karen Rogers. Dear brother of Arnold Joseph, Bryan Williams (Chris) and Valerie Cottrelle (Earle). Uncle of Jessica, Joseph, Andrew, the late Noah, the late Cassandra, Sierra, Zak, Mandie and Jennifer. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles and cuzzins. Predeceased by his brother Laverne George.

Over the years, Carey enjoyed playing baseball, and had an amazing baseball family. Children were drawn to him, he always enjoyed their presence and loved to play to hear their laughter. Carey had a heart of a lion with nine lives. He was a man of many nicknames including Pasquale, Squall, and Mush. Family was a big part of his heart, as well as listening to music. The tipi was a place that felt like home to him, a place of calming and peace.

Family and friends will be received at Maawn Doosh Gumig Community Centre on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025 starting at 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Maawn Doosh Gumig Community Centre on Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Aamjiwnaang Cemetery.
