It is with great sadness that the family of Roger Magellan Huard announce his passing on March 11, 2025, at Bluewater Health - Sarnia.
Roger was born in Shawinigan, Quebec on August 17, 1943. He came from a large francophone family of 17 children.
Beloved husband and best friend of Geraldine Ann Huard (Mitchell) of 50 years. Proud father of Scott Huard (Jane Monteith), Todd Huard (Denise) and Melissa Huard. Adored grandfather of Kate (James), Sam (Emily), Samantha, Joshua (Ciara) and Ethan. Dear great-grandfather of Neveah and Dyllan as well as grand fur babies Belle, Bodie, Callie and Theo.
He is survived by many brothers, sisters, brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Gerard and Yvette Huard and in-laws Gerald and Mildred Mitchell as well as several brothers, sisters, brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Roger loved spending time with his family and was an avid golfer and devout fan of the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Blue Jays. He was a proud member of Local 30 sheet-metal workers and Local 663 boilermakers.
Roger was much loved by those who knew him and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge the excellent and compassionate care received from the wonderful staff at Bluewater Health Palliative Care, the VON, Bayshore and the Red Cross. Special thanks to Dr. McSweeney, Dr. Crombeen, Belinda, Caitlyn and April for their devoted care.
