It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” Joseph Hermer of Kingston Township announce his passing on October 20, 2024, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia with his loving family at his side.
Beloved husband to the love of his life, late Ruth (Reid) for almost 60 years. Loving father of Michele Toms (Mike) and late Glenna (2024). Cherished grandfather of Eric, Amber, Cory, Kevin, Kyle, and loving great-grandpa of all his great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brother Jim (Rose), and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Yvonne, Myrtle, Grace, Theresa and brother Ernie.
Bob was a proud member of UA Local 301. He finished his career at CFB Trenton with many flights to Alert, Nunavut. Bob has left a huge hole in his Crystal Beach family. Master of bocce ball and lawn darts. The park knew if Bob couldn’t fix it, no one could. Bob always said, “You can’t judge the depth of a well by the length of its pump handle”. These were more than just words to him, it was the way he lived his life.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life for Bob will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit for their love and compassion. Memorial donations can be made directly to the Palliative Care Unit at Bluewater Health in Bob’s name.
