Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Bear Creek Terrace, Wilma Clare Hardick (nee Lewis) passed away at the age of 95. Reunited with her beloved husband, Lorne Richard Hardick, and daughters, Marilyn Dunk, Dianne Jones and Patty Hardick. Loving mother of Lorna (the late Ted) Haight, and Ron (Sharon) Hardick and mother-in-law of Paul Dunk and Art Osborne. Cherished grandmother of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Treasured sister of Gayle Lewis (Bob Dugdale) and Robert (Keely) Lewis. Predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Violet Lewis, and by her siblings Audrey, Beverley and Clarence. Wilma was instrumental in the creation of New Hope School, Wawanosh Enterprises, and raised money for the development of the YMCA on Russell Street. She loved being around people and shared her talent as a photographer by taking pictures of many family weddings. Wilma was a farmer all her life, and as a Jill of all trades, she could often be found hard at work in many different aspects of life and she never stopped learning. Above all else, Wilma loved her family and always put them first. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with family and friends being received one hour prior to the service. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Salvation Army (cheques only at the funeral home please).
